Chun Li by J-Sillabub Chun Li by J-Sillabub
Cosplay of Chun Li from Street Fighter. This was version two of this costume, worn at Minamicon 15 (I don't have any good photos of version three and version one sucks too much to post here). There is still a lot that I'm unhappy with so I may well remake the whole costume one day.

What a great Chun Li. Well made, you have her legs and stance. Amazing job!

I have always thought that Chun-Li made something clear:

"Only real action girls wear braids." ;)

You are fantastic personifying Chun-Li. I hope that your costume should not have made you feel uncomfortable while you were wearing it.

Thank you! You're very kind :D

It wasn't uncomfortable at all, it's just that there are things about the way I made it that I wouldn't do if I were making it now. Chun Li is one of my all-time favourite characters so I want to portray her to the best of my ability, which is why I said I may remake the whole costume one day.

Your love for Chun-Li makes me speechless. ;) Your Chun-Li is perfect! This pic makes me think if you really are a tomboy.

Hehe, thank you :D

I used to be really tomboyish in my teens, I'm not sure I'd use the word to describe myself now (I'm still not a girly girl but I have started embracing my more feminine side in recent years). I like to think of myself as just being straightforward. I like what I like and I don't really think of most things in terms of "masculine" or "feminine". It's just stuff that I like ^_^

Very interesting... =) Evidently, you are a real Street Fighter fan and, perhaps, of fighting games.

I like Street Fighter very much and I share my love for fighting games with you, since it's the videogame genre that I like mostly.

Congratulations for your Chun-Li! Now you are already her!

P.S. Have you heard of Skullgirls?

I've always enjoyed fighting games, even though I've never been all that good at them! They're great sources of inspiration for cosplay too. I've cosplayed as quite a few fighting game characters over the years - as well as Chun Li, I've done Ellis from Battle Arena Toshinden, Felicia from Vampire Hunter, Fei Yen from Virtual On, Nakoruru from Samurai Spirits, Zafina from Tekken 6 and Vice from King of Fighters. There are a few others I'd love to do too, like Litchi from BlazBlue and Shermie and Chizuru from KoF. One day!

My housemate got the Skullgirls demo on XBLA but I haven't had a chance to play it yet. I love the character designs but I've heard the game isn't very good. I'll have to play it and make my own mind up I guess :)
